The 9th Biannual Bhagavad Geeta Chanting Competition

Date: September 8th, Saturday, 2012, 10am at Saraswathi Nilayam.

All the devotees are invited to listen to the sweet recitation by the children

Deadline for Registration: September 1, 2012.
Please note: No registrations will be considered after the deadline.

All registrants are requested to arrive at least 15 minutes early (so that we can start on time) and stay till the end of the competition.

Please note: the concluding verse of every chapter, “ iti srimadbhagavadgitasupanishatsu…….” Should be recited only by those children who recite all the 20 verses.

VERSES FOR RECITIATION: CHAPTER 5, VERSES 10-29

Grouping is as follows:
KG and below    -   5 verses (10-14)
1st and 2nd Gr.  -   7 verses (10-16)
3rd and 4th Gr.   - 10 verses (10-19)
5th and 6th Gr.   - 15 verses (10-24)
7th Gr. and up   -  20 verses (10-29)

Registration fee: $10.00 per child.

Register by sending the information on your child(ren) with the details (name, age, grade, address, contact tel. # with the name of person to contact) and the check (payable to HTCT) to:

The children could challenge themselves to memorize more verses than assigned and go to the higher level. They will be judged accordingly.

Judgment is based on:
1. Clarity of expression
2. Memory power
3. Confidence in presentation

THE RECITATION ORDER AS DEVELOPED WILL NOT BE CHANGED.
