Dear Devotees,
As you may know, on September 13, 2022, we lost a pillar of our community, Dr. Shyamala Nair, who had been teaching children for the past 41 years (since 1981). She taught Bhagavad Gita, music, and bhajans. It will not be an exaggeration to say that her life was dedicated to inculcate spirituality into our children. It had been her desire to have dedicated class rooms and a library at the temple. It did not materialize before, largely due to the COVID epidemic. The teaching and studies of spirituality and our religion must go on and dedicated teachers have already taken up the task. We are blessed that classes are continuing. In her name, the temple has plans to build dedicated classrooms and a library on temple premises. The details are being worked out by the Board of Trustees with help from a designer and builder.
To make these plans a reality we have established a building fund. Those wishing to make a tax-deductible donation to the fund, before the year comes to a close, please donate to the Hindu Temple of Central Texas specifying “Shyamala Nair building fund”. You may also donate by clicking the button below. We will keep everyone updated on a regular basis. We thank you for your support and wish you a safe holiday season. Hari Om.
